Bama legacy passed on to another generation

JASPER | For the Alabama faithful, the names “Bryant” and “Denny” can invoke a sense of reverence and pride. When combined, these names can summon images of honor, tradition and a history of excellence.
But these names are not reserved for coliseums where crowds gather to cheer on their crimson-clad champions. Sometimes, they are passed on to our greatest treasures.
Meet Bryant Denny Banks, who has been breathing the sweet, Southern air of Jasper for about three weeks.
He’s the pride of his parents, Jessica and Adam Banks, as well as his maternal grandparents, Dean and Kay Farley.
And speaking his name has been a dream of Dean Farley for years.
“I’d always liked the name,” said Dean Farley, 41. “But since I had daughters, I couldn’t name any of them Bryant, so I had a problem.”
A problem that, with the understanding and love of his daughter and son-in-law, was erased.
It almost didn’t happen though.
In fact, young Bryant Denny Banks didn’t get his name until after his birth.
