LEWISBURG, Tenn. | The University of Alabama landed another prospect from the state of Tennessee on Wednesday when Marshall County defensive end Dont’a Hightower committed to the Crimson Tide.

The four-star defensive prospect plays both ways in high school.

“I think what really got me was the state of Alabama and the community as well as Coach [Nick] Saban and Coach [Kevin] Steele,” Hightower said. “Pretty much everything about Alabama I liked and it just felt like home.”

Hightower (6-foot-2, 245 pounds) rushed for more than 1,000 yards as a sophomore in only four games of action. As a junior, he collected 98 tackles, two sacks and seven forced fumbles. As a tight end, he caught 18 passes for 253 yards and four touchdowns.
