TUSCALOOSA | Robby Green, a 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback from John Curtis Christian School in River Ridge, La., committed Tuesday to the University of Alabama.

“I’m going to be playing my college ball at Alabama,” Green said. “I always knew that I wanted to play there and for Coach [Nick] Saban, and now it’s official.

“I love the [Alabama] coaching staff. I am in great with them. We all have a real close relationship, especially with Coach [Burton] Burns. Alabama has a great recruiting class. There is a lot of opportunity there.”

Through nine games, Green had 30 tackles, four interceptions, 10 pass deflections, two fumble recoveries and one kickoff return for a touchdown. He reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 17 on the ACT.

“Coach Saban said I would have the opportunity to come in and play right away,” Green said. “Alabama losing the last four games of the season doesn’t matter to me, for anyone who wants to know. I know they are rebuilding. Coach Saban will get the right guys to build his system.”

Green’s commitment will push the Crimson Tide’s ranking to No. 3 in the country in recruiting.
