UA women host Bulldogs today

TUSCALOOSA | The University of Alabama women’s basketball team (3-7) hosts in-state foe Alabama A&M (1-3) today at 11:30 a.m. in Coleman Coliseum.

Alabama returns home after suffering a 62-34 loss to UT-Chattanooga, while Alabama A&M defeated the Lady Mocs last time out, 67-63, for their first win.

The game against the Bulldogs will be the first of six straight home games.

Today’s meeting marks the fifth time the two programs have met, with Alabama posting a perfect 4-0 record. The last meeting between the two was a 81-55 victory for the Tide in 2005.

The Bulldogs are led by Katrich Williams, who averages 12.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

Alabama will continue its six-game homestand on Thursday with a matchup against Hampton. Tipoff is scheduled for at 6 p.m.

The Crimson Tide will host Jacksonville State on Dec. 22 to close out the 2007 slate.
