UA womens golf 4th at Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico | The University of Alabama women’s golf team remains in the hunt for the Puerto Rico Classic title after posting a second-round score of 297 Monday. The Tide is in fourth place with a two-day total of 14-over-par 590.
Kent State leads the Classic with a score of 10-over 586.
Junior Kathleen Ekey continues to be the Tide’s top scorer with a second round of 1-over 73. Ekey is eighth overall with a two-round score of 1-over 143.
Sophomore Rhea Nair followed with a 3-over 75. For the two rounds, Nair is at 4-over 148 and in a tie for 13th.
Senior Sarah Sturm improved her play in the second round with a 1-over 73. Sturm moved into a tie for 19th with a total of 5-over 149.
Freshman Camilla Lennarth is tied for 25th after a second round score of 4-over 76. She is at 6-over 150.
Sophomore Helena Blomberg turned in a second-round score of 5-over 77. She is tied for 34th with a 7-over 151.
The final round is today.
