TUSCALOOSA | Three members of the Crimson Tide volleyball team participated in the USA National Team tryouts this past weekend at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The tryout began on Feb. 22 and concluded on Feb. 24. More than 110 collegiate athletes from around the country were in attendance.

Seniors Lindsey Buteyn and Amy Pauly as well as redshirt junior Brooks Webster represented Alabama at the event. The tryout marked the first for Buteyn and the second for Pauly and Webster.

The Tide players went through three days of intense training in hopes of earning a spot on the U.S. Women’s National Team, the Olympic Team or one of the two 10 member A2 teams. If chosen for the A2 team, the athletes will compete at the USA Open Championships in Atlanta May 18-28. All rosters for the US National teams will be selected at the end of March.
