NEW YORK | The second Golf World/NGCA Division I Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association. Alabama moves up four slots to No. 12.

“I am thrilled that we are being recognized for the hard work we are putting in,” coach Mic Potter said. “Ultimately what matters is what we do on the golf course and that is all we are concerned with right now.”

Alabama opened the spring season with a No. 16 ranking and after three spring tournaments has improved to No. 12. The Tide has placed in the top 10 in all three tournaments, including two top-5 finishes.

Duke retains the top spot in the poll, earning all 25 first-place votes. The Blue Devils are the first team to be a unanimous selection during the 2007-08 season.

Rounding out the top five are UCLA (No. 2), Arizona State (No. 3), Southern California (No. 4) and Florida (No. 5).
