TUSCALOOSA | The University of Alabama men’s golf team jumped back into the top spot this week in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings on the strength of its eight-shot win in the SEC Tournament last weekend.

That win has also helped the Crimson Tide hold on to its perch at the top of the Golf World/Nike Golf Division I Coaches’ Poll.

Alabama received 18 of the 23 first-place votes in the coaches’ poll to remain the nation’s No. 1 team. Georgia, which got two first-place votes, remains at No. 2. Southern California remains at No. 3 but shares that spot now with UCLA.

The Crimson Tide, coached by Jay Seawell, has won a school-record six of its 10 tournaments this season.
