TUSCALOOSA | A University of Alabama football player is in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on charges of public intoxication.

A.J. Walker, 19, was charged with public intoxication on Friday, according to court records. He was being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail at 1 p.m. Friday with bail set at $300.

UA spokeswoman Cathy Andreen said that University of Alabama police officers arrested Walker on University Boulevard on campus at 2:15 a.m. He was not inside a residence hall, she said, and had no further details Friday afternoon.

Walker is wearing a bandage on his forehead in his mug shot.

The redshirt freshman wide receiver is a 2007 graduate of Huntsville High School.
