DECATUR | University of Alabama sophomore linebacker Rolando McClain was involved in a motorcycle accident Thursday in his hometown of Decatur, but sustained no major injuries. He was released from Decatur General Hospital.

“Rolando has been released from the hospital following a motorcycle accident on Thursday,” coach Nick Saban said in a released statement. “Our medical staff has checked on him and he should be OK other than some cuts and abrasions. He’ll continue to be monitored by our staff and our thoughts are with him and his family during what we hope is a quick and full recovery.”

The Decatur Daily reported that McClain slid under an SUV that was in motion after coming off a bike he got Thursday.

McClain played in 13 games with eight starts last season, accumulating 75 tackles, four for a loss, and two interceptions. He played with a broken thumb and dislocated shoulder at the Independence Bowl, and was still sporting a protective cast on his hand during spring practices.
