Alabama to face Oregon in Maui Invitational

TUSCALOOSA | The University of Alabama basketball team will play Oregon in the first round of the EA Sports Maui Invitational in November.

Brackets were announced Tuesday afternoon for the eight-team event.

Alabama will open its tournament play at 11 p.m. against Oregon in the first round on Monday, Nov. 24.

The Crimson Tide will play the winner or the loser of first round match-up between North Carolina and Chaminade in the second round the next day.

Game one of the tournament, which is hosted by Chaminade on Nov. 24-26 at Lahaina Civic Center in Maui, Hawaii, features Texas playing St. Joseph's at 2 p.m.

The winner/loser plays Notre Dame or Indiana, who play one another in the second game at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 24.

The North Carolina vs. Chaminade game will be Game 3 played at 8:30 p.m.

The tournament is in its 25th year. This will mark the first time Alabama has participated in the event.

ESPN's networks will combine to televise, live, all 12 of the tournament's games. ESPN360.com will provide live simulcasts of the games televised on ESPN and ESPN2.
