TUSCALOOSA | The University of Alabama football team hit the practice field early this morning following its first full day off of the 2008 fall camp.

Freshman tight end Brad Smelley was the only UA player in a black, no-contact jersey for injury reasons. Smelley participated in stretching drills with the team, then rode an exercise bike for the remainder of the 30-minute media viewing session.
Junior fullback Baron Huber (concussion) was in white for the first time in three days, participating in drills with the running backs unit.
Sophomore offensive lineman Brian Motley, freshman offensive lineman John Micheal Boswell, freshman offensive lineman Tyler Love and freshman offensive lineman Barrett Jones all participated in run-throughs with the second-team offense.
The Crimson Tide will reconvene for another practice this evening.
