TUSCALOOSA | The University of Alabama football team completed the first session of its final two-a-day practice this morning at the Thomas Drew practice facility.

Freshman Brad Smelley (hamstring) was back in a white jersey and participating in full with the tight ends. Smelley had spent the previous two days in a black, no-contact jersey. Currently the Crimson Tide has no players in black for injury reasons.

During the allotted time the media was allowed to view practice, the running backs participated in pass catching drills, the tight ends worked on blocking drills and the defensive line ran through speed and agility drills.

The Tide will reconvene later this evening for its second practice of the day.
