TUSCALOOSA | University of Alabama sophomore linebacker Charlie Higgenbotham was in a black, no-contact jersey during this afternoon's practice, becoming the first Crimson Tide player to don the black, for injury reasons, in three days.

Higgenbotham participated in stretching drills with the team, then hopped on an exercise bike for the remainder of the media viewing session.

His injury was undisclosed.

With Higgenbotham out, freshman linebacker Don'ta Hightower worked side-by-side with sophomore linebacker Rolando McClain in drills along with junior linebacker Brandon Fanney and junior linebacker Eryk Anders.

Scouts from the Houston Texans were on hand for today's practice. The Tide will scrimmage tommorow afternoon at Bryant-Denny Stadium for the second time of the 2008 fall camp.

The scrimmage is closed to the public.
