Recruiting Chat Transcript (9-10-08)
Julio Jones: We seem to be using the TE a lot. Any TE's in the picture or will we just convert somebody?
Andrew Bone: The Tide staff is showing interest in Dan Hicks from Oxford, Miss.
dswright: Will any recruits be at the W Kentucky game?
Andrew Bone: Several are expected as unofficial visitors. Michael Bowman is expected for an official visit.
namesake (non-grad type): Any chance Joe McKnight's little brother comes to Tuscaloosa?
Andrew Bone: Always a chance. Alabama almost pulled off Joe McKnight in only a few weeks.
dswright: What year is Jonathan McKnight?
Andrew Bone: Junior
namesake (non-grad type): A.J. McCarron....football or baseball?
Andrew Bone: football
Jehremy: Any news on Montez Robinson, where does the Tide stand with him?
Andrew Bone: Alabama is in the top three. Auburn is really pushing for a commitment.
Julio Jones: Mike Marrow looks like he is going to be a better LB than RB with his stats. What do you think?
Andrew Bone: I think better suited for defense.
Jehremy: Who, in you opinion, is our most underated commit of the 14 so far?
Andrew Bone: Trent Richardson is underrated. I think Chance Warmack has the chance to move up as well as Kellen Williams.
tuckerterry: Is there anything on Charles Siddoway?
Andrew Bone: Siddoway has Alabama among his top four schools. He plans to officially visit later on in the season for the AU game or after the season.
namesake (non-grad type): time for the weekly Kendall Kelly question....do we get him?
Andrew Bone: Alabama is in great shape with Kendall. Surprised if he went anywhere else.
Buzz Fluhart: How many can we take this year?
Andrew Bone: Alabama will probably take around 23 players in the 2009 class.
Julio Jones: It looks like all the rest of our commits will be 4 and 5 star players. Is that how you see it?
Andrew Bone: I think so. Maybe a few players who are ranked three-stars like Kevin Norwood.
namesake (non-grad type): How many of our recruits are signing day committs in your opinion?
Andrew Bone: Probably two-three.
tuckerterry: how is the recruitment of Chris Bonds going?
Andrew Bone: Alabama is in the top six.
Jehremy: Who's the next to commit?
Andrew Bone: Probably Michael Bowman or Kevin Norwood.
tuckerterry: with the commitment of William Campbell to Lsu, do we have a better chance of getting Darrington Sentimore?
Andrew Bone: That may close the door for Sentimore to LSU. We'll see what happens.
woverton34619: Are there any current commits not likely to be eligible?
Andrew Bone: That is unknown for a while.
