Chat Transcript (9-17-08)

rickck48a: I am curious as to what chances we have with Reuben Randle?

Andrew Bone: Alabama's chances to land Randle are slim. I would expect him to take an official visit, but he is LSU bound.

rickck48a: Are there anymore top O-line prospects we are after?

Andrew Bone: The top two guys on the board are Charles Siddoway and Bobby Massie. I think the coaching staff would really like to land Massie.

rickck48a: AB are we doing very much recruiting out west (i.e.) West coast or Midwest

Andrew Bone: Charles Siddoway (Oregon), Ronnie Wingo (Missouri) are two players on the board.

Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: Are we still on top for Dre and Kendall? Sorry, but have been out of touch for a while.

Andrew Bone: Alabama is considered the team to beat for both. Kirkpatrick attended the Alabama-Clemson and Alabama-Tulane game. Kelly hasn't been to Tuscaloosa yet this season.

jrsii52: Are there any recriuts in the Columbus, GA area that Coach Saban is recuiting?

Andrew Bone: Alabama has offered Jarvis Jones from Carver High School. I think they are showing interest in LeRon Furr as well. Both are linebackers, but I expect them to go elswhere.

dswright: Who commits next?

Andrew Bone: My best guess is Kevin Norwood. I spoke with him last night. He sounds about ready to make a decision.

dswright: Do you seeing any of the current commitment challenging for a starting position next year?

Andrew Bone: I see Trent Richardson coming in much like Mark Ingram and challenging right away. I think D.J. Fluker, as an offensive tackle, has a chance to compete for a spot. Nico Johnson could see a lot of playing time as well.

brody3715: Notice a lot of commits considered to be Locks taking trips to Bama. Any chance of any of them swinging our way or they just enjoying the recruiting ride?

Andrew Bone: Most are enjoying the recruiting process, but a few guys are serious about Alabama. Jonathan Stewart is committed to Texas A&M, but really likes Alabama. Brandon Heavens is committed to AU, but likes Alabama and Florida.

brody3715: Ok sounds good. What type of impact do you forsee Randle having as a freshman. I only ask bc Julio was just as hyped and although one of the Best Bama has is still a little rough around the edges. IMO

Andrew Bone: He could make an immediate impact at the next level. He isn't as physical as Julio, but a little bit more polished as a receiver. He runs excellent routes and can fly. He has great hands. I see him stepping in immediately wherever he goes.

florachen1980: will Kerry Murphy and Preyear be back in 2009 class?

Andrew Bone: The status for both is unknown.

brody3715: I know Moses is expected to take a visit here sometime this fall, but with the impact this guy could make, why are we not throwing everything we got at him? He could really make the life after Andre much much easier.

Andrew Bone: Depends where the coaching staff might have him on the recruiting board. The Alabama staff likes Bobby Massie and Moses.

brody3715: Ok again sounds good. Another potential big impact to me is Rod Woodson. I know him qualifying seems to be a concern. Any news on that?

Andrew Bone: He has time to improve his grades in the classroom. He is a great physical player, but needs to work on coverage. He could move to linebacker as well.

bama-is-rolling: Do you see Bama going after anymore safties?

Andrew Bone: I could see the staff adding one more safety to the class. Possibly Darren Myles.

bama-is-rolling: Do you think that William Campbell has interest in Alabama?

Andrew Bone: I don't think he has a lot of interest. I have talked with some Scout.com recruiting analysts in the midwest, and they do not think he is too interested in Alabama.
