From staff reports
Darrington Sentimore, a Scout.com four-star defensive tackle from Destrehan High School in Louisiana, made a big decision Sunday by committing to the University of Alabama.
Sentimore chose Alabama with 35 other scholarship offers in hand including Arkansas, Miami, Oklahoma and Tennessee. The 6-foot-2, 270-pound prospect was considered a heavy lean to LSU, but the Tigers have yet to offer. He did show heavy interest in the the Tide for several months and considered Alabama No. 2 on the list behind the home state school.
He had a very productive junior season with 89 tackles, 16 sacks and three forced fumbles and was named all-state.
Sentimore is the No. 16 overall prospect in the 2009 recruiting class. Sentimore participated in the Under Armour/Scout.com combine in Mobile where he was named first team All-Combine.
