Cully Payne, a guard from Schaumburg, Ill., who signed with Alabama last November, has been released from his letter of intent according to sources close to the UA basketball program.

Payne, who had originally committed to DePaul before switching to Alabama last fall, is a 6-foot-1 point guard.

He is expected to take several visits this spring according to his father who spoke to the Daily Hearld in Cook County Illinois.
