TUSCALOOSA | The Alabama women’s basketball team made another addition Friday when it announced the signing of Mobile’s Jocelyn Shaw, who led LeFlore to the Class 5A state championship and was named Tournament MVP.
“We are excited about signing Jocelyn,” said head coach Wendell Hudson. “She has a great competitive nature and is a player we have been watching all year. We are looking forward to her coming in because we think she is going to be a solid contributor on the floor.”
Shaw, a 6-foot forward, averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds this past season. In the championship game win over Brewer, she scored 29 of LeFlore’s 68 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Shaw is the fourth member of this year’s signing class, joining three early signees — 6-foot-2 center/forward Karneshia Garrett of Hoover, 5-foot-11 guard Celiscia Farmer of Montgomery and 6-foot forward Megan Perkins of Montgomery.
