Mr. and Mrs. Burl Sumlin Jr. of Auburn announce the engagement of their daughter, Jenna Louise Sumlin of Opelika, to Jarret Allen Layson of Opelika, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Layson of Opelika.
The wedding will be on Aug. 15 in Opelika.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Newton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Burl Sumlin Sr. of Mobile.
She is a 2006 graduate of Auburn University, where she received a degree in elementary education. She is employed by Opelika City Schools.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Richardson and Joann Layson and the late Rep. allen Layson.
He is a 2007 graduate of the University of Alabama Law School. He is employed by Ingrum, Rice and Parr LLC.
