Gymnastics, softball teams to sign autographs on Quad today

TUSCALOOSA | The University of Alabama gymnastics and softball teams will sign autographs today starting at 4:30 p.m. on the Quad near Denny Chimes before the homecoming game against South Carolina.

The two teams will be signing a combined poster that features the individual athletes on one side and a “Power of Pink” poster on the other. The Power of Pink is the Alabama athletics department’s year-long effort to raise awareness of and support for breast cancer initiatives in West Alabama. The campaign got underway Friday with the Tide’s volleyball match against Tennessee and continues Sunday with the soccer team’s match against Vanderbilt.

The gymnastics team is coming off its sixth Southeastern Conference title and a runner-up finish at the NCAA championships. The softball team made its deepest run into the Women’s College World Series last season, advancing to the semifinals.
