TUSCALOOSA | University of Alabama officials have denied a request from Tennessee to wear its orange (home) jerseys for Saturday’s game at Bryant-Denny Stadium. According to UT coach Lane Kiffin, approval was also needed and sought from the Southeastern Conference, which gave its approval, but Alabama did not.
“(UT Director of Athletics) Mike (Hamilton) and I had a good conversation this morning and I told him that it is our desire to maintain the custom of the visiting team wearing their visiting jerseys,” UA Athletic Director Mal Moore said in a statement. “We'll continue to wear our white jerseys when we visit Knoxville next year."
