The Tide got off to a slow start in game one of Fall Brawl I, but quickly found the offense that led the team to a 54-11 record and a Women’s College World Series appearance. In the two-game set two weekends ago, Alabama defeated Georgia Perimeter 3-2 and Jacksonville State 9-1 (in five innings).
The two games were highlighted by two of the Tide’s new freshmen. Infielder Courtney Conley went a combined 5-for-6 with two runs and three RBIs in the two games, while freshman hurler Lauren Sewell struck out 10 in five innings, while not allowing a walk in her first collegiate outing against Jacksonville State.
Fall Brawl II and III will follow the same format used for Fall Brawl I, with each participant facing each other once.
