47° CLEAR, Anthony Grant's official debut set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 14

TUSCALOOSA | The University of Alabama basketball team's season opener has been set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Coleman Coliseum.
Alabama will play Cornell in UA head coach Anthony Grant's official debut.
The Crimson Tide football team will play at Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss., on the same date. UA athletic department officials waited until the football game time was set to schedule the basketball tipoff time to give fans an opportunity to attend both games.
The UA men's and women's basketball teams will have their first public showings this Wednesday in exhibitions. The women will host North Alabama at 5:30 p.m., with the men's team hosting Montevallo at 7:30.
