TUSCALOOSA | The Stillman College men’s basketball team, beginning its second season under the direction of head coach Michael Grant, lost to Talladega College 100-94 in an exhibition game Wednesday night at Birthright Auditorium.

Phil Woods of Talladega led all scorers with 31 points. Omari Murray led Stillman with 21 points.

Stillman started out hot, sparking the crowd with a series of fast-break points to a 10-0 lead. Talladega battled back with a barrage of 3-pointers and baskets in the lane to take the lead midway through the first half.

Guard Skyler Williams, who had 15 points in the first half, electrified the crowd with a dunk just before the half to give Stillman a 44-42 lead.

The second half belonged to Talladega. The Tornadoes out-rebounded Stillman 54-40 and scored on easy putback baskets.

Stillman will play in an exhibition game on Monday at Mississippi Valley State University.
