INDIANAPOLIS | University of Alabama All-American cornerback Javier Arenas injured his right hamstring on his first run at the 40-yard dash Tuesday and sat out for the remainder of the drills at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Arenas reportedly pulled up as he crossed the finish line and immediately went to a training table, NFL.com reported.
Arenas told NFL.com’s Steve Wyche that he will be ready to work out at Alabama’s pro day on March 10.
Fellow UA cornerback Kareem Jackson, who elected to forego his senior season and make himself eligible for the NFL Draft, ran a 4.41-second 40. He also bench pressed 225 pounds 16 times.
Former Alabama safety Justin Woodall ran the 40 in 4.63 seconds and pumped the 225-pound bench press 13 times.
