TUSCALOOSA | University of Alabama junior second baseman Ross Wilson signed a contract with the Chicago White Sox on Saturday, meaning the Hoover native will forego his senior season for the Tide.
Wilson hit .277 with nine home runs in 61 starts in 2010.
Junior righthander Jimmy Nelson is expected to sign with the Milwaukee Brewers today. He is undergoing a physical at the team's facilities in Milwaukee. The 6-6 hurler was 9-3 in 17 games started, including three complete games. He struck out a team high 98 batters for Alabama, who lost to Clemson in the Super Regional.
