Georgia's Richt likes Bulldogs' offense

HOOVER | The first question ten-year Georgia head coach Mark Richt was asked is if he had any comments on predictions that Georgia would take the SEC Eastern title.
His answer: “What's your name? I like you.”
Then he got serious and answered the question.
“First of all I hope you're right,” he said. “I don't think there is an easy SEC schedule quite frankly. Everyone is pretty darn good. I'm going into year 10, and I think each team has beat us at least once.”
One of the newest additions to the team is redshirt freshman quarterback Aaron Murray. Despite his inexperience, the offensive returns a lot of talent, and Richt is confident in his offense's ability.
“I know we have a redshirt freshman quarterback,” he said. “He's been through spring and been through our season and he understands our system well.”
With other experienced offensive players around Murray such as wide receiver A.J. Green, Richt believes he'll be able to step up and the lead the offense.
“Because he's surrounded by a bunch of veteran and a bunch of guys that have surrounded him and want to see him succeed and they want him to lead, then we'll be in good shape,” he said. “We've got to be careful to go at his pace.”
On the defensive line, the team lost four to five scholarship players, but Richt recognizes their excitement and takes confidence on that side of the ball too.
“We lost a bunch of defensive linemen, but with the new scheme that we have the excitement that's brought, we're going to get after it,” he said. “We're going to play hard. If we can do that and find a way from beating ourselves, I think we'll be a pretty good football team.”
The only position Richt said there isn't much depth is outside linebacker.
“Other than that we've got pretty good depth at other positions,” he said. “We might have some youngsters. But we have the right kind of guys there getting the job done.”
