Alabama has some questions to answer heading into the regular-season finale at Auburn. Here are four.
1. Will Mac Jones have success?
The Crimson Tide backup QB had big games in his two starts this season, but those were against inferior opponents. Playing Auburn in Jordan-Hare Stadium is about as big a test as a QB can have. Auburn (as well as Alabama) ranks 11th in the nation in scoring defense.
2. Who wins the run game battle?
Auburn comes in averaging 213 yards rushing per game while Alabama is averaging 168. Auburn uses a committee of backs while the Crimson Tide relies on Najee Harris and Brian Robinson. Harris has stepped up his game the last month, but Auburn is built to run the ball.
3. Big day for Seth Williams?
The Tuscaloosa native and former Paul W. Bryant graduate has been Auburn’s go-to receiver. He leads the Tigers with 735 yards and eight touchdowns. He’ll look to have a productive day against a tough Alabama secondary.
4. Can Jerry Jeudy top 1,000 yards?
The 2018 Biletnikoff Award winner (for the nation’s best receiver) needs 67 yards to reach 1,000 for the second straight year. He’s not as prolific as last season, but he is still a big-play threat and will need to be against Auburn.
