What’s seemed the most likely scenario for the past week came to fruition Friday morning when Alabama found its offensive coordinator Mike Locksley.

Locksley’s been on the Alabama staff for two seasons, one as an offensive analyst and one as the wide receivers coach. Locksley takes over for Brian Daboll, who accepted a job with the Buffalo Bills in the same role. Daboll coached just one season at UA.

Locksley becomes the seventh Alabama offensive coordinator in coach Nick Saban’s 12 seasons in Tuscaloosa. The previous offensive coordinators include Major Applewhite, Jim McElwain, Doug Nussmeier, Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian and Brian Daboll.

Locksley has a good reputation as a recruiter he knows UA’s personnel well. He has experience as a head coach and as an offensive coordinator in previous stops at Illinois, New Mexico and Maryland.
