Alabama finished second in the league with 90 players across five sports named to the fall SEC Academic Honor Roll.

South Carolina led the way with 100 athletes receiving the honor. Alabama had the most of any school that does not sponsor men’s soccer, an additional fall sport.

Alabama’s 90 picks included 34 members of the football team, 19 women’s soccer players, 16 women’s cross country runners, 11 men’s cross country runners and 10 volleyball players. The 34 members of the football team to make the list are third in the SEC behind Florida’s 40 honorees and South Carolina’s 36. Alabama’s 34 players included Quinnen Williams, Jonah Williams, Jalen Hurts, Joseph Bulovas, Hale Hentges, Alex Leatherwood, Terrell Lewis, Christian Miller, Saivion Smith, Ross Pierschbacher and Jedrick Wills Jr.

To be named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, an athlete must have a GPA of greater than 3.0 for the preceding academic year. Students must have completed 24 hours of study (for those students at institutions using a semester system) and must have been a member of a varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment. Scholarship athletes, letter winners and walk-ons who have been on a varsity team for two seasons can be named to the list.
