It was a bad news, good news day for Alabama football on Monday.
The bad news came in the morning with the announcement that three-star commitment De’Rickey Wright de-committed from the Crimson Tide.
The 6-4, 200-pound athlete from Gadsden City High School had pledged to Alabama in April, but announced via Twitter his decision to re-open his recruitment.

“First things first I would like to thank my FATHER GOD for BLESSING me with the ability I have today,” he said on his Twitter account. “I would also like to thank The University of Alabama and Coach Saban for BLESSING me with the opportunity to allow me to play at their school. With that being said I will announce that I am de-commiting from Alabama.”
Wright is ranked as the 21st best recruit in the state according to 247Sports.
The good news came for the Crimson Tide a few hours later with the announcement that four-star player Will Anderson, from Hampton, Georgia, announced his commitment to Alabama. He made his announcement via Twitter as well.
“First I want to thank God for all the many blessing he has brought into my life,” Anderson wrote. “I am very blessed to have this talent. …Thank you to all the schools that have recruited me and believed in me I am honored and grateful. With that being said I will be committing to THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA #Rolltide #Blessed.”

That keeps Alabama’s number of commitments at 20.
Anderson, a 6-3, 233-pound defensive lineman, ranked as the No. 10 recruit in Georgia by 247Sports. He is the fifth-ranked defensive lineman in the country and ranked 91st overall in the country.
That gives Alabama 20 commitments for the 2020 recruiting class and four this month.
Last week, Quandarrius Robinson (6-4, 217), a four-star linebacker from Jackson-Olin High School in Birmingham announced his commitment to Alabama. He’s the No. 1-ranked linebacker in the state and the 53rd-ranked payer in the nation by 247Sports.
Also last week, in-state linebacker prospect Demouy Kennedy (6-3, 205) of Theodore High School, announced his commitment to UA.
Earlier this month Alabama snagged another player from the Lonestar State in 3-star offensive lineman Damieon George (6-6, 348) of North Shore High School in Houston.
