The Alabama women’s basketball team lost to Iowa State 75-66 at Coleman Coliseum on Thursday night.

Redshirt junior Jordan Lewis led the Tide (5-3) with 20 points, shooting 7 of 14 from the field. Sophomore Brittany Davis added 12 points, while junior Ariyah Copeland posted 10 points.
"You just have to give credit to Iowa State,” Alabama head coach Kristy Curry said. “I thought they had a few more things that we just weren’t able to do: they had four in double figures, they had great balance, and I thought that really mattered tonight. They found a way to score buckets and then outrebounded us. So, credit those guys and we’ll learn and grow. It’s the time of year where we have a lot of teaching moments and continue to get better."
Alabama started out fast, jumping out to a 16-9 lead. The Cyclones (6-1) responded quickly, tying the game 18-18 after the first 10 minutes of play.
Iowa State closed out the last four minutes of the second quarter on a 12-2 run to take a 34-27 advantage at the half.
The Cyclones went on a 14-5 run to take a 58-43 lead headed into the fourth.
Davis had her first game in double figures since Nov. 17 and tied her career high by going 3 of 6 from 3-point range.
Lewis scored her third 20-plus point game in the last four contests. She is averaging 17.8 points per game over her last four games and currently leads the team on the season in points (13.1) and assists (3.0) per contest.
UA shot 25 of 58 (43.1 percent) from the floor, while ISU converted 28-of-64 (43.8 percent) of its attempts.

Alabama hosts Colgate on Sunday at 2 p.m.
