The University of Alabama had two players chosen to the Southeastern Conference’s annual men’s basketball coaches preseason All-SEC first and second teams Friday, with sophomore Braxton Key and freshman Collin Sexton each earning a spot on the second team.
Alabama had no representatives on the first team.
Ironically, both Key — an All-SEC freshman team selection last year — and Sexton will be out of action in Alabama’s opening game, Key due to knee surgery and Sexton with a one-game NCAA suspension.
Thirteen different schools (all except LSU) are represented on the two teams with Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Texas A&M having two selections each.
