The University of Alabama men’s basketball program received its third commitment for the upcoming November signing period on Saturday when Jaden Shackelford, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Hesperia, Cal., announced via his Twitter account that he would sign with Alabama.

Shackelford chose Alabama over Kansas State, Pepperdine, UNLV and other offers. He joins 6-6 forward Juwan Gary of Columbia, S.C., and 6-5 guard Jaylen Forbes of Florence, Miss., in the UA 2019-2020 recruiting class. Alabama has also signed Top 40 prospect Kira Lewis, who reclassified to the 2018-2019 class in August and will participate with this year’s team.

A left-handed guard with shooting range to 23 feet, Shackelford is rated the No. 99 prospect in the USA by 247 Sports and No. 135 nationally by Rivals.com.

Alabama is continuing to recruit inside players for the 2019-2020 class including 6-10 forward Drew Timme of Dallas, Tex., and 6-8 Trendon Watford of Mountain Brook.
