The University of Alabama men’s basketball team will host a preseason exhibition game against Georgia Tech on Oct. 27, the day after the football game against Arkansas, at noon. Proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross Hurricane Dorian benefit; Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas in late August.
In recent years, the NCAA has allowed teams to add an additional preseason exhibitions provided it raise funds for a catastrophic event; this is first time Alabama has participated in one. It will be a regulation, 40-minute game, and it will not be broadcast on television or radio.
Georgia Tech, now coached by former Memphis coach Josh Pastner, has not made the NCAA Tournament since 2010.
The game will immediately precede the women’s basketball team’s exhibition against Auburn-Montgomery, which will tip off at 2:30 p.m.
