Alabama lost last weekend for the first time this season, but moved up a spot to No. 24 in the AP Top 25 men’s basketball poll, and also landed an honor for one of its players when Colin Sexton was named SEC Freshman of the Week.
The Crimson Tide defeated Texas-Arlington and BYU last week, and lost to now-No. 12 Minnesota in a bizarre game that saw UA finish with only three players after several were ejected for leaving the bench during a brawl that broke out on the court.
Three other SEC teams were ranked. Kentucky led the way at No. 6, Florida checked in at No. 7 and Texas A&M was No. 9.
Alabama will host Louisiana Tech on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Coleman Coliseum.
Duke was unanimous No. 1 in the AP poll.
