WINTER PARK, Fla. – Junior Jordan Lewis’ career-high 25 points pushed the University of Alabama women’s basketball team past Virginia, 64-52, on Thursday at the Florida Sunshine Classic inside Rollins College’s Warden Arena in Winter Park, Fla. With the win, the Crimson Tide improved to 8-4 on the season, while the Cavaliers dropped to 4-7.

Alabama will play No. 24-ranked Miami on Friday at 5:15 p.m. to close out its play in the Florida Sunshine Classic.

To go along with her 25 points, Lewis also grabbed six rebounds and three assists. The Windermere, Fla., native’s three assists moved her to No. 9 all-time in career assists at Alabama. Alabama’s Jasmine Walker picked up her third double-double of the season after putting in 18 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Cierra Johnson also chipped in 10 points in the win.

The Tide never trailed in the game and knocked down nine three-pointers, while holding the Cavaliers to just 28 percent (19-of-66) shooting from the floor.
