Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley announced Wednesday that he is entering the National Football League draft.

He announced it on his Instagram account:

Ridley finishes his career as one of Alabama’s most productive receivers. He finished his career with 224 career receptions, second only to Amari Cooper’s 228. He had 63 catches for 967 yards and five touchdowns as Alabama’s top receiving target this season.

For his career, Ridley had 2,781 receiving yards, the third most in school history. His 19 receiving touchdowns are second only to Amari Cooper in Alabama history. He caught at least one pass in all 44 career games at Alabama.

He’s widely projected as a first round pick. ESPN ranks him as its top overall receiver in the draft and the 14th best player regardless of position.

Ridley also turned 23 years old in December, making him closer in age to a senior or fifth-year player than an early entrant in the draft. He’ll turn 24 late during his rookie season in the NFL.

He was named first-team All-SEC by the coaches in 2017 and earned a handful of second-team All-America honors. Ridley was named second-team All-SEC in 2015 and 2016.
