Skyler DeLong flipped his commitment to Alabama on Thursday, according to multiple reports. DeLong’s Twitter profile confirmed the news.

The three-star recruit is the No. 1 punter in the class of 2018, and the No. 30 prospect in the state of South Carolina, per the 247 Sports composite rankings.  Kohl’s Kicking Camps, a ranking service for specialists, ranks him as the No. 4 punter in the class of 2018. Chris Sailer Kicking, another ranking service, has him as the No. 2 punter in his class and the No. 33 kicker.

While at Nation Ford high school, DeLong was 28 of 31 on field goals, including 2 for 4 this past season. His career long is 35-yards.

The 6-4 180-pound punter originally committed to Tennessee on June 1.

DeLong projects to take over the punting duties at Alabama when senior JK Scott departs after this season. Scott was a first-team All-SEC choice by the league coaches and the media this season and picked up some All-America honors as well.

DeLong is the fourth player in the 2018 class to commit to Alabama and the second this month, after Quay Walker committed last Thursday.
