The team worked on the back practice field on an overcast/rainy day in Tuscaloosa. Here is what I saw during the media viewing period.

Outside linebackers

The group worked in the following order: Christian Miller, Anfernee Jennings, Jamey Mosley, Terrell Lewis, Mekhi Brown, Ben Davis, Christopher Allen and Tucker Riddick.

Inside linebackers

The group worked in the following order: Rashaan Evans, Shaun Dion Hamilton, Keith Holcombe, Mack Wilson, Dylan Moses, Markail Benton, Ryan Burns and Joshua McMillon. Hamilton wore a knee brace on his right knee.

Offensive line

The first positional grouping worked in the following order from LT to RT: Jonah Williams, Ross Pierschbacher, Bradley Bozeman, Lester Cotton and Matt Womack.

Nickel defense

Anthony Averett was at right corner with Trevon Diggs at left corner. Ronnie Harrison and Minkah Fitpatrick were the safeties and Tony Brown was the Star.. Freshman Xavier McKinney shadowed Fitzpatrick.

Odds and ends

Christopher Allen is a physical specimen. It’s to look at him and believe he’s a true freshman who just got on campus. The offensive line did drills in threes and one of those groups contained from left to right Chris Owens, Deonte Brown and Kendall Randolph. Ben Jones spotted scouts from the Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions. Ben also noticed: Keith Holcombe was not in a black, no-contact practice jersey. Holcombe had shoulder surgery after spring practice. The wide receivers went through drills in the following order Calvin Ridley led up one group with Cam Sims and Xavian Marks behind him. Leading the other group was Robert Foster, Jerry Jeudy and Tyrell Shavers.
