Former Alabama star Jonathan Allen will miss the rest of his rookie year because of a foot injury. The former first round pick was taken out of the Redskins’ 26-24 win over the 49ers due to a Lisfranc injury.
The news was first reported by ESPN reporter John Keim on Wednesday.

Redskins’ head coach Jay Gruden originally said that Allen would miss 3-4 weeks.
Allen finishes his rookie season with 10 tackles and a sack through five games.
While at Alabama, Allen finished with 28.5 sacks, which is the second most ever by an Alabama player. The 2016 Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year also received the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award and Ted Hendricks Award.
He was chosen by the Redskins with the 17th overall pick in the first round of this year’s draft.
