Alabama was selected as one of the best four teams in the country when the playoff committee put it in the Sugar Bowl to play Clemson. Three of its recruits continued their hot streaks by moving on in the playoffs. All star ratings are based off the 247Sports composite:
Four-star cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis helped St. Paul’s Episcopal (Mobile) advance to the 5A state championship game with a 20-19 win over Demopolis. St Paul’s won the championship on Thursday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Four-star offensive tackle Tommy Brown was a key member of Mater Dei’s (California) offensive line in its 49-24 win over St. John Bosco. The Monarchs threw for 299 yards and ran for another 165 yards.
Three-star athlete Vernon Jackson helped Boling (Texas) advance to the quarterfinals of the 3A D2 Texas state playoffs. The Bulldogs defeated rival East Bernard 28-6. They’ll play Lexington tonight.
Four-star wide receiver Xavier Williams had the week off before the 3A Florida state championship game.
Three-star all-purpose back Slade Bolden and West Monroe’s (Louisiana) season came to an end in the semifinals of the Louisiana 5A state championship. The Rebels lost to Zachary 29-27.
Four-star defensive end Jordan Davis’ high school career came to an end earlier this fall when Southwind (Tennessee) lost 49-48 to Brighton in the second round of the playoffs.
Three-star punter Skyler DeLong and Nation Ford (South Carolina) lost in the first round of the 3A playoffs 35-14 to Greenwood earlier this fall.
Four-star center Emil Ekiyor’s season came to an end with a 42-13 loss in the Indiana state semifinals earlier this fall. The Fighting Irish ran for 233 yards in the loss.
Four-star defensive end Cameron Latu’s season with Olympus (Utah) ended with a 28-14 loss to Springville earlier this fall. He finished with 10 total tackles in the loss. Latu finished with 42 total tackles and eight tackles for a loss in his senior season.
Four-star outside linebacker Quay Walker finished his high school career with a 26-25 loss to Pike County previously this fall. Crisp County (Georgia) reached the second round of the playoffs. Walker finished his senior season with 63 tackles, nine of which were for a loss, and one sack.
Four-star defensive end Stephon Wynn and IMG Academy (Florida) previously finished its season with a 48-0 win over Bishop Sullivan Catholic. Wynn finished his senior season with 18 tackles in eight games.
