Four-star linebacker Quay Walker spurned Alabama and flipped his commitment to Georgia in a ceremony at his school on Wednesday morning.
He choose Georgia over Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and Florida State at the Crisp County High School gymnasium.
Walker, the second-ranked outside linebacker and the 31st ranked prospect in the 2018 class according to 247 composite rankings, had been committed to Alabama since June.
He had visited Alabama on Jan. 19, but Georgia got his last visit on Feb. 2. That may have been enough to sway his decision.
Walker becomes the third Alabama signee to change his commitment. Vernon Jackson decommitted on Tuesday night and defensive tackle Bobby Brown flipped to Texas A&M.
The 6-4, 236-pound outside linebacker is from Cordele, Georgia and will end up staying in his home-state. He’s a major flip for Kirby Smart, who could end the day with the top ranked recruiting class. Smart also flipped defensive back commit Nadab Joseph from Alabama to Georgia in December.
