Alabama landed its fourth commitment of National Signing Day. Four-star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle chose Alabama over Texas A&M and Texas.
Waddle, from Bellaire, Texas, chose the Crimson Tide over the in-state options. He received a visit from Mike Locksley and and Josh Gattis on Jan. 23.
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound wide receiver is listed as the No. 3 player in Texas, the No. 5 wide receiver and No. 39 overall player.
Waddle is the first receiver signing of the day for the Crimson Tide. Justyn Ross shocked many and chose Clemson over Alabama and Auburn, and Jacob Copeland committed to Florida over Alabama.
Even with Calvin Ridley headed to the NFL draft and Robert Foster graduating, Alabama returns Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs and the hero in the National Championship game, Devonta Smith at the position.
