Nick Gentry, a defensive lineman on the University of Alabama’s 2009 and 2001 national championship teams, has been hired as an assistant coach working with UAB’s outside linebackers.

Gentry played high school football for UAB coach Bill Clark at Prattville. In 2011, Gentry was named Alabama’s Co-Defensive MVP in the Crimson Tide’s Sugar Bowl win against LSU. In 2012, he began his coaching career as a defensive analyst at Tennessee.
