Alabama picked up another commitment for the 2019 class on Monday evening.

DeMarcco Hellams, a four-star safety from Hyattsville, Maryland committed to the Crimson Tide. He announced his decision on Twitter.

“The recruiting process has been stressful but has been a blessing nonetheless,” Hellams said. “With that being said I am 100% sure on my decision and will be announcing my commitment to The Univesity of Alabama.”

Hellams is the No. 4 safety in the 2019 class and is the No. 92 prospect overall.

Alabama offered Hellams in late February and he took an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa in late March before committing on Monday.

After losing six starting defensive backs to the NFL over the last two seasons Alabama has focused heavily on the secondary in recruiting. The Crimson Tide added five new defensive backs in the 2018 class and two more, including Hellams in the 2019 class so far.
