The University of Alabama football team will begin the 2018 college football season in exactly the same position in the USA Today/Amway coaches’ poll that it ended in 2017.

That’s at No. 1.

Alabama received 61 of the 65 first-place from the voting coaches. Clemson, which received three of the remaining first-place votes, is ranked No. 2. The rest of the top five included Ohio State (which got the remaining first-pace vote), Georgia and Oklahoma.

The SEC placed three teams in the top 10, with No. 10 Auburn joining Alabama and Georgia. In addition to Auburn, Alabama will face two other preseason Top 25 teams: No. 18 Mississippi State and No. 24 LSU.

Three other schools on Alabama’s 2018 schedule received votes but landed outside the Top 25: Texas A&M (which received the 31st-most votes), Arkansas State (37th) and Louisville (48th).

Other SEC teams receiving votes were South Carolina (26th), Florida (27th) and Kentucky (43rd).
