Here’s a look at the University of Alabama’s 10-year, $600 million athletics facilities upgrade plan, unveiled Thursday (subject to approval by UA administration, with timelines and specifics subject to change:

Phase I

(Target date: start after 2019 football season – some parts may begin sooner)

Mal Moore Athletic Facility:

  • Renovated football locker room and medical treatment center
  • Weight room pushed out 36 feet to maintain square footage
  • Renovated lobby
  • Two-story sports science center

Bryant-Denny Stadium:

  • New, large video board on south side upper deck
  • Two new video boards on north end
  • Student terrace on south end
  • Open-air club seats in concourse area in U1 level; enclosed club space and outdoor seating in U2 level
  • Ten Founders Club boxes in current press box area
  • New press box on east side
  • North field-level club area
  • Renovated locker room with recruiting lounge above that, and tunnel that goes directly from Walk of Champions

Men’s and women’s golf facility:

  • $5 million upgrade

Rhoads Stadium (softball):

  • $3 million upgrade

Phase II

(Target date: start after 2021-22 basketball season)

Coleman Coliseum:

  • Interior bowl gutted to raise floor and create new seating plan
  • Wider concourse areas
  • Seating 10 feet closer to floor
  • Third level of upper-deck seating on north and south sides of floor
  • Student seating baseline to baseline on one side of court
  • club spaces on floor and concourse levels and premium seating areas
  • Upgraded lobby
  • New lighting, video boards and ribbon boards

Women’s gymnastics:

  • Upgraded practice facility

Women’s basketball:

  • Permanent move to Coleman Coliseum completed, including coaching offices and locker room

Bryant-Denny Stadium:

  • Club seating area in south end zone

Other facilities:

  • Upgrades for Olympic sports to be determined

Phase III

(Target date: Start in 2025-26)

Bryant-Denny Stadium:

  • Lower concourse on west side widened more than 60 feet to Wallace Wade Avenue
  • Widened concourse on east side
  • Upgraded fan amenities

CECIL HURT: Today’s sports demand big bucks
