The Alabama coaching staff named nine players of the week following Alabama’s 56-14 win over Louisiana-Lafayette last Saturday.

On offense, both Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts were recognized for their play at quarterback. Tagovailoa only threw eight passes before being taken out, but all were completions. He totaled 128 yards and two touchdowns through the air. Hurts added 118 yards and one touchdown on 4-of-6 passing. Center Ross Pierschbacher and receiver Henry Ruggs III were also recognized for their play on offense.

On the defensive side, Raekwon Davis, Trevon Diggs and Christian Miller earned honors. Davis paced Alabama’s defensive linemen with four tackles against the Ragin’ Cajuns. Diggs made his first career interception, giving all of Alabama’s starting defensive backs at least one pick on the season. Miller made it three straight games with a sack and chipped in four tackles.

Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and linebacker Jaylen Moody were tabbed as special teams players of the week.

Waddle juked and jetted his way to the end zone on a 63-yard punt return in the first quarter, with Moody helping to clear Waddle’s path with a block. Moody also registered his first career tackle on kickoff coverage.
